I an confused by the amount of tax allowance(9940) you have for 65 when everywhere else shows it to be 9490.
Catherine Maudsley - 24/03/2011 13:16:55Hi Catherine, £9,940 is the tax free allowance for people aged 65-74 in the 2011/2012 tax year. The £9,490 figure you have seen on other sites is last years tax allowance. You can select any tax year between 2003-2011 on our calculator.
