There may be a mistake in the tax calculator for 65 to 74 year olds for 2009/10 I think it should be £9,030 and not £9,490.
Roy Whitgrove - 08/10/2012 00:10:10The rates we use in the calculators can be found in our tax rates and allowance table. I have double checked these for you and for 2009/10 for people age over 65 but below 75, the allowance before tapering is £9,490.

the starting rate for savings should be included for calculations on small incomes, to be correct and proper but good content
Colin - 14/09/2012 09:22:21Colin, Savings income is treated as an additional income source therefore to accurately calculate tax for multiple incomes please use our UK Tax Calculators Wizard. The starting rates for savings are included as well as all conditions to make sure the correct deductions are made.

company car option
Paul Bostock - 11/09/2012 11:21:52For a £3,000 car allowance you would enter '-3000' into the 'Other Allowances/Deductions' box.

Non pensionable allowances, e.g. car allowance to be added
Marcus West - 30/07/2012 21:48:00If you have an additional allowance which is taxed as regular salary, but excluded from pension contributions - such as a car allowance or other BIK, please enter the amount of allowance/BIK into the 'Other Allowances/Deductions' box - so for a £3,000 car allowance you would enter '-3000' into the 'Other Allowances/Deductions' box. This will result in a additional £3,000 being accounted for tax - but excluded from your pension.
