I was born 28/4/35 therefore not entitled to a married mans tax allowance

Ewen.kennedy - 03/03/2011 13:59:29

We have updated the calculator options to make the 'married' option clearer regarding this. Unfortunately, as the PAYE calculator does not request your date of birth and the married couples allowance is specific to your date of birth, this option must only be ticked if that condition is met. Our UK Tax Calculators Wizard does request your date of birth and will therefore be able to check if you are eligible for MCA. Try it at www.uktaxcalculators.co.uk/wizard

Thank you for an excellent calculator. I would like to see the tax payable split into 20% and 40% bands to help plan pension.

Thanks Dennis! You can see the tax payable split into its bands by putting the mouse cursor over the arrow next to where is says 'tax due' in the result table. This should then show you the various bands and tax amount in each.

Dear Sir, i receive 34,202 per annum and will receive a £15k retention bonus end of April what will i get as no paremeters

Paul McGurk - 25/02/2011 10:17:49

Your bonus amount after tax, if taxed in the same manner as your other income, would depend upon the month in which you receive it. If it is paid via PAYE at the end of april, as part of the new tax year 2011/12, your bonus would be worth £9,526.40 after the additional tax and NIC on it would be paid. Click here and scroll to the bottom to see the annual bonus calculation.
